In true spirit of Festive Season of Christmas, 54 Division troops under Security Force Wanni organised a distribution of essential school items and gifts for the needy children in Illuppakadawal remote village located in Manthei West, Mannar on 19 December 2018 with the benevolent sponsorship of Hemas Outreach Foundation.
Many school children from primary level onwards received Christmas gifts and stationery.
This charitable programme took place at St Peter’s Church, Kalladi with the presence of Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu as the chief guest.
The event was grandly organised in line with the upcoming Christmas Festival including a concert with Christmas Carrols, Skits and Songs performed by students of St Peter’s Piyawara Preschool and Army troops.
The General Manager Communication and Sustainable Development of Hemas Lanka PLC/ Executive Director of Hemas Outreach Foundation Mrs. Shiromi Masakorala and a special representative of Hemas Outreach Mr Mark graced the event as distinguished guests.
The happiness of kids was obvious all over their faces and it was a memorable event for the children and parents in this festive season.
The chief prelate of St Peter’s Church, Kalladi Fr Belan Cruise together with Sister Jeyawathi, General Officer Commanding of 54 Division, Commanders of 541 and 542 Brigades, large number of students and parents were present at the occasion.
