Commander Security Force (Wanni), Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, offering floral tribute at the war heroes’ monument in Wanni Headquarters premises participated in ceremonies commemorating 10th Anniversary of Victory achieved after the Humanitarian Operation. Officers and Other Ranks of Wanni Headquarters too joined to pay their tribute during a solemn event organized in the morning on 20 May 2019.
After the wreath ceremony he hoisted the flag of Security Force (Wanni) and observed two minutes silence in remembering fallen heroes in front of the main office complex. Subsequently, the message of the Commander of the Army was readout to all and the Security Force Commander delivered his speech to mark the occasion.
Thereafter, members of the Security Force Wanni visited Mother Theresa’s Elderly Home at Pampeimadu to provide medical assistance, sanitization, entertain and treat all inmates to a sumptuous lunch. Troops of Headquarters Security Force (Wanni) organised a Shramadhana Campaign to clean the premises of this Elderly Home on 17 May 2019 too.
Brigadier General Staff Brigadier Harendra Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndc, Brigadier Administration and Quartering Colonel Indu Samarakoon Lsc Hdmc along with all Officers and Other Ranks of Headquarters Security Force (Wanni) too were present at commemorative programmes.
