A group of philanthropists joined hand with Headquarters Security Force (Wanni) to install a tube well at Nawakkulam, a very remote area under Vavuniya Administrative Division.
Nawakkulama is a far off village comprised over 100 families living with several difficulties and among them the scarcity of drinking water is the most essential daily requirement for those villagers since a long period of time.
After observing the difficulties underwent by poor villagers in Nawakkulama due to scarcity of drinking water, the Brigadier Administration and Quartering of Headquarters Security Force (Wanni) Colonel Indu Samarakoon Lsc Hdmc coordinated to install this tube well with the great sponsorship offered by Mrs Nandani Samarakoon and a team of her friends working as visiting lectures and teachers.
Installation of the tube well is one of the social welfare projects launched under the CSR projects initiated by the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu in order to assist the underprivileged people in Wanni region.
The newly installed tube well was vested with people in Nawakkulama area during a simple ceremony held on 11 May 2019 with the presence of Brigadier Administration and Quartering of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) Colonel Indu Samarakoon Lsc Hdmc along with Mrs Nanadani Samarakoon.
The Commander 211 Brigade Colonel Lal Wijethunga RWP RSP USP, Civil Affairs Officers of Headquarters Security Force (Wanni) and 211 Brigade, some officials of Government institutions too were present at the occasion.
