SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS (WANNI) MARKED THE FIRST MARVEL OF THE BUDDHISTS
Vesak is the season on earth to celebrate the great birth, attainment of perfection and Parinirwana of the Incomparable One among men and gods, the fully enlightened Buddha. The inanimate multitude of world systems thundered in boundless wisdom of profundity on this noble season.\r\n\r\nTroops serving under Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) gathered to memorize the major collateral incidents of the Buddha life by organizing a massive Vesak Festive Session during 10, 11 and 12 May 2017.\r\n\r\nThe Wanni Vesak Festive Zone was decorated with plenty of mass Vesak lanterns, Vesak Dansel and a Devotional recital program.\r\n\r\nAs the first segment of the series of religious events followed by a Bodhi Pooja, the Vesak lanterns competition was ceremonially commenced by lightning the first bulb of the lanterns with the participation of the Commander Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) Major General Ruwan Kulatunga as the chief guest.\r\n\r\nFrom thenceforth, the phase of A - 9 road in front of the camp was filled with a massive crowd that arrived to witness the splendor of this notable event and they refreshed with a cup of herbal drink which was provided from the ‘Osu Pan Dansela’ organized by the troops of the Security Force Headquarters (Wanni).\r\n\r\nAfterwards, the devotional recital program enriched with the religious contentment of the participants. Subsequently, the awarding ceremony for the winners of the Vesak lanterns competition was held at the Headquarters auditorium.\r\n\r\nThe first place of the competition was awarded to the creation of the 1st Regiment of Military Intelligent Corp whilst second and third places were awarded to Special Forces Brigade and Signal Squadron of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) respectively.\r\n\r\nThe entire event was organized with the supervision and guidance of the Commander Security Force Headquarters (Wanni).\r\n\r\nThe Vesak Festive Zone was launched towards the pole of the success as the sheer dedication and immense contribution that performed by the troops serving under all different branches in Security Force Headquarters (Wanni), Headquarters of 221 Brigade, Special Forces Brigade, 10th Sri Lanka Artillery Regiment, 3rd Commando Regiment, 3rd Special Forces Regiment, 1st Regiment of Military Intelligent Corp and 4 (V) Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps.\r\n\r\nThe Commander Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) graced the first day of the session as the chief guest whilst Senior Officers, Officers and large number of Other Ranks were representing this noble event.\r\n\r\n
