SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS (WANNI) MARKED THE 68TH ARMY ANNIVERSARY
Sri Lanka Army, the country’s most sought service provider and the pride of the Nation that boasts supreme achievements turns 68 years of age on 10 October 2017 which is also regarded as the Army Day.\r\n\r\nAs the initial event, the troops of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) gathered in a ShramadhanaCampaign at Grace orphanage in Vauniya on 08 October 2017 and Children of the Grace orphanage was provided lunch on 10 October 2017 to coincide the 68th Anniversary. The following day was begun with Hindu religious blessings invoked at Hindu Kovil, Munnimuruppu. Subsequently, the Holy Mass and the Islamic blessings were invoked at the Catholic Church and the Jumma Muslim Church in Vauniya respectively.\r\n\r\nThe main religious event, ‘a Bodhi Pooja’ was taken place in Security Force Headquarters (Wanni)with the participation of staff officers and Other Ranks of the Headquarters.\r\n\r\nThe formal ceremony was taken place according to the military customs by hoisting the flag and passing the message of the Commander of Armyon 10 October 2017. Apart from that an all rank tea session was organized on account of remembering the 68th Army Anniversary and these events were headed by the Brigadier General Staff of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) Brigadier H P N K Jayapathirana RSP on behalf of the Commander, Security Force Headquarters (Wanni).\r\n\r\nBrigadier Administration and Quartering, Senior Officers, Officers and all Other Ranks of the Headquarters were present at the occasion.\r\n
