SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS (WANNI) INITIATES TO CONSTRUCT ANOTHER TWO MORE HOUSES

A veteran cricketer Mr Rangana Herath and the Senior Deputy Gener al Manager of Sampath Bank PVT Ltd Mr Tharaka Ranwala joined hand with the Social Welfare Project initialised by the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu with the aim of providing permanent houses for destitute families living with sever economical problems in Wanni region.

Mr Rangana Herath and Mr Tharaka Ranwala, through their benevolence will be donating their private money to construct two houses for Mr. S Sanjeewa Sirisena living in Agunakochchiya and K A S Sarath Thilakarathne in Vavuniya. These philanthropists were directly coordinated by the Colonel General Staff of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) Colonel Anil Peiris RSP USP psc.

On instructions of Commander Security Force (Wanni), General Officers Commanding 21 and 56 Divisions tasked their under command troops to commence the construction of houses while providing relevant technical assistance.

The foundation stones to construct these houses were laid by Mr Rangana Herath along with Mr Tharaka Ranwala during a simple ceremony held on 25 May 2019.

Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) has already constructed 06 houses during last six months for destitute families living in Madawachchiya, Vavuniya, Puleliya, Welioya and some other parts in the Wanni region. As well the construction of another house was commenced on 02 May 2019 and it is in progress at Jayanthipura in Padaviya.

The event of laying the foundation stone was graced by Mr Rangana Herath and Mr Tharaka Ranwala as chief guests while the Commanders of 211 and 561 Brigades Colonel Lal Wijethunga RWP RSP USP together with Colonel R A N K Rathnayake made their presence as distinguished guests.

Colonel General Staff of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) Colonel Anil Peiris RSP USP along with many Senior Officers of Headquarters Security Force (Wanni), 21 and 56 Divisions, neighbours of beneficiaries, and number of villagers too were present at the occasion.
