SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS (WANNI) DONATES WHEELCHAIRS AND WALKING STANDS

Philanthropist Mr. Y B Nishantha, the General Manager Quality Assurance and Safety of Crystal Martin Garments PLC joined hands with The Headquarters Security Force (Wanni) under one of its social benevolence projects initiated by Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General KumuduPerera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu in distributing Wheelchairs and Walking stands on 19 February 2019 for disabled Sinhala, Tamil and Muslim civilians living in Anuradhapura, Vavuniya, Mannar and WeliOya areas.

This charitable donation was organised in focussing all communities living in Wanni region in order to strength the reconciliation among people and to build up the virtuous rapport between military and civil community. It was significant to take place this activity on Nawam Full moon Poya Day that depicts the merit of the donation.

According to instructions given by the Commander Security Force (Wanni), these sets of needy people were opted out as beneficiaries. Later, with the coordination and on a request made by the Civil Affairs Officer in Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) Lieutenant Colonel UpulBandara, one of the leading garment Factory based in Katunayake Free Trade Zone, Crystal Martins Garments PLC under its Coporate Social Responsibility Fund and with the patronage of General Manager of the Garment Mr Y B Nishantha stepped forward to donate all these Wheelchairs and Walking Stands.

The donation programme was taken place with the participation of General Officer Commanding 56 Division Major General PrabathDematanpitiyandupsc as the chief guest while the General Manager Mr Y B Nishantha and a team of officials from Crystal Martins Garment PLC were made their presence as guest of honours.

Brigadier General Staff Brigadier SenaWaduge RWP RSP USP pscndu, Brigadier Administration and Quartering Colonel InduSamarakoonLscHdmc, several Senior Officers from Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) too were present at the event.

Headquarters Security Force (Wanni) provided transports, refreshments and lunch for all beneficiaries and their family members who were gathered in the event.
