SECRETARY DEFENCE CEREMONIALLY OPENED THE CIVIL DEFENCE FORCE AREA HEADQUARTERS IN WELIOYA
Secretary of Defence and Urban Development Ministry, Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksha RWP RSP psc, declared open the Civil Defence Forces area Headquarter building complex in Welioya on 18 July 2014. The new building complex was completely renovated by Civil Defence Force that was used as the fishery-reproduced center and turned ruin during the last two decades due to the ruthless war. The constructions of that full primed building complex was completed with enormous labour power contribution of Civil Defence Forces members and it is consisted with Commanding Officers’ chalet, Main office complex, Welfare shop, Conference hall, A Buddha shrine room and women’s billet.
Mr. Gotabaya Rajapaksha unveiled the plaque on auspicious time and cut the ribbon ceremonially. The event was organized by the Civil Defence Authority. Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General MHSB Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc, many senior officers from three services and Police, government officials and nearly one thousands of Civil Defence Forces personnel graced the occasion.
