Philanthropists Eng. Ashoka Weerasinghe together with Dr.Nandhani, through sheer benevolence handed over scholarships to two needy children who excelled in the 5th grade scholarship exam to facilitate their higher studies. Beneficiaries were HarithikHansuja from Shivapuram Collage Vavuniya who obtained 197 marks becoming the 3rdinall island and the first in order of merit from Vavuniya District and Niwarsana from KaleiMagal School Nelukkulama who obtained 189 marks.
It was organized by General Officer Commanding 61 Division Brigadier KDCGJ Thilakarathe RWP RSPthrough his personal friends as another gesture of goodwill to assist underprivileged civilians in the area conceptualized by Commander Security Force Wanni Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu.
During a formal ceremony held on 09 November 2018 at the Headquarters premises of Security Force Wanni,Eng. Ashoka Weerasinghe together with Dr.Nandhani,handed over the scholarships to HarithikHansujaand Niwarsana in the presence of Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, Brigadier KDCGJ Thilakarathe RWP RSP and Brigadier Ranjan Premalal.
