RE-SETTLEMENT OF 77 SINHALA FAMILIES AT AVARANTHULAWA VILLAGE IN VAVUNIYA
A project is set to resettle 125 Sinhala families in an area of 100 ½ Acres of Avaranthulawa village in Vavuniya South secretarial division. As the first step 77 Sinhala families were resettled on 30th April 2014 with the presence of General Officer Commanding of 21 Division Major General PUS Vithanage RSP, at Avaranthulawa village. Among the guests Rev. Siyambalagaswewa Vimalasara Thero, District Secretary of Vavuniya Mr. M K Bandula Harischandra, Commander 211 Brigade Brigadier DT Gamage psc, Divisional Secretary of Vavuniya South Mr. M S Janaka, additional secretary of President task force Mr. A D S Gunawardhena, The officer in charge of civil affairs of 21 Division Lieutenant Colonel WRWMS Weerakoon and Commanding Officer of 2 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment Lieutenant Colonel J K Dissanayake were present at the occasion.
