Riders of Quick Reaction Team formed at Headquarters Security Force (Wanni) completed their Initial Introductory Training package successfully on 23 May 2019.
Forming Quick Reaction Teams in each Security Force Headquarters was a concept initialised by the Commander of Army Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake RWP RSP VSV USP USACGSC in order to employ them for countering strives through engaging quickly and efficiently with such tense situations which could be occurred in future as the country had faced during last few weeks due to the Easter Day Bomb attacks.
This short term Introductory Training session focussing to acclimatise a selected group of soldiers from under command battalions to Security Force (Wanni) was a great impact for all trainees to get an experience and knowledge through practical and theoretical sessions on quick reactions and combat readiness for a tense situation.
During a brief and simple event organised to mark the closing of the training package, trainee riders of Quick Reaction Team exhibited a fine demonstration on subject areas that they learnt and trained during the training session.
The newly trained Quick Reaction team at Headquarters Security Force (Wanni) is scheduled to be obtained their advance training from Special Forces Training School in Maduruoya.
The training package was conducted by an instructor team comprising of veteran combat riders led by Captain E G Y M Gamage of Special Forces Training School under the directions of Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu.
The Brigadier General Staff Brigadier Harendra Ranasinghe RWP RSP ndc along with Brigadier Administration and Quartering Colonel Indu Samarakoon Lsc Hdmc and all Officers of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) attended to witness the demonstration and final progress of the training.
