QUICK REACTION TO EVACUATE THE CIVILIANS IN MANNAR COSTAL LINE
With the direction and assistance of General Officer Commander 54 Division Brigadier KMU Wijerathne USP ndu, 543 Brigade troops were able to quickly react to evacuate civilians living in costal area of Mannar island to safe places on 05 January 2014 due to disaster situation. 19 VIR and 21 (V) GW troops distributed meals for the evacuated civilians.
