With the intention of uplifting and fostering sportsmanship, good relations, friendship, and entertaining the troops of 68 Infantry Division, a rowing competition was held on 23 January 2024 at Puthumattalan Lagoon. The event was organized under the guidance of General Officer Commanding 68 Infantry Division, Major General S Kasturimudalai RSP ndc psc by the troops of 593 and 681 Infantry Brigades. The General Officer Commanding graced the occasion as the chief guest.
The participants were competed in four categories: single event, double event, triple event and exhibition event. The winners were awarded with trophies and cash prices by the chief guest. single event was won by 68 Infantry Division, a double event was won by 9 Sri Lanka National Guard and triple event was won by 6 Sri Lanka National Guard.
The event was succeeded with the fishing society which provided boats & oars of Maradamadukulam Lake. Senior Officers, Officers other ranks, & civilians witnessed the occasion.
