From 20th to 24th May 2025, the 59 Infantry Division successfully conducted the Regimental Accounts Course – Stage II at its headquarters, under the leadership of Major General D. R. N. Hettiarachchi RWP RSP USP. The course focused on enhancing the financial proficiency of Army personnel, particularly in regimental accounting practices as outlined in Army Order 16/2017.
61 participants including 03 Officers and 58 Non-Commissioned Officers (NCOs)—from across the Wanni Security Force Area attended the five-day training. A team of experienced instructors delivered the course: 02 Officers and 05 Senior NCOs, who provided both theoretical knowledge and practical application through lectures, case studies, spot tests, and scenario-based exercises.
The program aimed to strengthen understanding of financial management procedures, improve audit readiness, and support the professional development of NCOs preparing for promotion. Special recognition was given to Warrant Officer I J. M. S. S. Bandara from the Trade School Kuttigala, for his outstanding contribution to course delivery.
This initiative reinforced the Army’s commitment to financial accountability and operational transparency, playing a crucial role in fostering discipline and administrative efficiency within its ranks.
