PLACEMENT AND UNVEILING OF THE GOLD - PLATED PINNACLE ATOP THE NEWLY - BUILT THONIGLA DAGOBA
Enshrinement of Buddha’s sacred relics, placement and unveiling of the gold-plated pinnacle atop the newly-built Thonigla Dagoba (pagoda) at Thonigala Temple in Galkulama, took place on Monday (14) morning, preceded by an all-night Pirith chanting, the previous night (13). \r\n\r\nThonigala Dagoba was constructed under the patronage of Mr. Priyantha Silva, Chairman Diesel and Hydraulic Engineers- Ratmalana and guidance and coordination was done by Brig K G D Perera RWP RSP USP IG - GOC 62 Division. \r\n\r\nMr. Priyantha Silva graced the memorable ceremony as the Chief Guest and GOC 62 Division was also participated at the event. Event was organized by the chief incumbent of the Thonigala Temple along with village members.
