‘Pahasarani 2022’ community programme conducted for the benefit of the school children at Ehetugaswewa College and Padavi Sripura Track 11,12 Samanpura College on 29 September 2022.
At the outset a psychological lecture was conducted on the subject of ‘Menstruation and Adolescent Mind’ by Dr Dinuka Weerasinghe from Child Psychiatric Unit, Teaching Hospital – Anuradhapura. Further, 250 school children were donated with Sanitary Napkins packs. The total cost for the project was Rs 530,000.00.
The programme was scheduled as per the instructions and the direction of General Officer Commanding 62 Infantry Division Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi RWP RSP USP ndu psc and the supervision of Command 622 Infantry Brigade Colonel Enoj Herath RSP USP psc and the event was organized by the Commanding Officer 9 Battalion the Gajaba Regiment Lt Col Senaka Munasinghe RSP GR.
Further, this community programme sponsored by the Alumini friends of Royal College Colombo together with Old scholarly friends of University of Sri Jayawardenapura as per the concept and initiative taken by Mr Prasad Lokubalasooriya and his team, Mr Dinesh Gayan, Mr Chinthaka Abeysekara, Ms Ashali Rathnayaka, Ms Chathurika Kankanamge, Ms Hashani Wickramarathne, Ms DilaniSurangi Zoysa and Ms Kushani Abeyrathne.
