As the instructions and direction of Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General C D Ranasinghe RWP RSP, group of 136 troops serving the Security Force (Wanni) voluntarily came forward to donate their blood to the Blood Bank at Vavuniya District General Hospital on Saturday (24) during arrangements, kept in place at the Army Field Hospital in Security Force Headquarters (Wanni).
The Officers and Other Ranks of the Security Force (Wanni) considering the humanitarian nature of the requirement donated their blood. The medical staff at Vavuniya District General Hospital praised the Army for the gesture and thanked the Commander Security Force (Wanni) initiative in this regard.
WO II Priyanka DMDR (37 time) and Staff Sergeant Tilakasiri BDLP (45 time) received the token of appreciation and certificates to appreciate being donating blood and Security Force (Wanni) received the plaque and certificate to appreciated, programing the blood donation program.
Brigadier (Admin/ Quartering), directed to the Medical Officer and Staff of Army Field Hospital to coordinate the campaign with the staff of Vavuniya District General Hospital.
