The resettlement programe directed by the Commander Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni), Major General M H S B Perera RWP RSP ndu psc along with the government’s resettlement programme,initiative has been under taken by the Army in order to resettle home less Tamil people in Vavuniya District. The Tamil people who were temporarily sheltered in Karapinchakulam, Srirampuram, Maharambakulam, Kannamthottam and Katharsinnakulam of Vavuniya South Divisional Secretariat will be resettled in a village called Agbopura, North of Omanthai. Under this project, 104 land plots, each consist of 40 perches will be distributed among Tamil people. The project is supervised by the General Officer Commanding of 56 Division, Brigadier D A R Ranawaka RSP IG. Presently, the area clearing is being carried out by the Army to facilitate the settlement and action will be taken place immediately. Hon. MP Namal Rajapaksa will be presenting the deeds to the people following survey of the lands.
