Major General W W M P W W B R Palamakumbura RWP RSP assumed duties as the General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 21 Infantry Division, amidst religious blessings and military formalities at the 21 Infantry Division Headquarters on 10 February 2025.
The newly-appointed General Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division was warmly welcomed by Staff Officers and saluted in a Guard Turnout, presented by 7 (V) SLAC troops as he entered the premises before a Guard of Honour extended honours to him.
In his new office, the new GOC afterwards symbolically signed an official document to mark the assumption of his duties after the religious observances. He then posed for a group photograph. In his address, the newly appointed GOC shared his vision for the division's future.
Brigade Commanders, Staff Officers of the 21 Infantry Division, Commanding Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were present during the day's event.
