The newly appointed Commander – Security Force (Wanni) Major General H J S Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc visited Engineers Brigade at Boo Oya on 11 July 2019. Same as other visits to Division Headquarters, Major General H J S Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc was extremely honoured with a Guard Turnout and Guard of Honour while the Commander Engineers Brigade Brigadier A N Amarasekara USP received him with a warm welcome. In order to mark the visit to Engineers Brigade, the new Commander Security Force (Wanni) planted a Mango sapling inside the camp premises. Afterwards the Commander Engineers Brigade made a briefing with full of details in relevance of duties vested to the Brigade. Later, the Commander Security Force (Wanni) addressed troops representing all formations under Engineers Brigade.
The series of events too were comprised of opening of the renovated Officers’ Mess, inspection of Other Ranks’ Mess, Ration Stores and Kitchen Area. Subsequently, he made a close look on the construction site at 8 Field Engineers Regiment.
The Commander Engineers Brigade Brigadier A N Amarasekara USP, Senior Officers of Headquarters Engineers Brigade, Commanding Officers of all under command formations to Engineers Brigade participated in this formal occasion.
