A NEW SCHOOL FOR CHILDREN OF RESETTLED VEHERATHENNA VILLAGE
Lack of space for education is one of the major barricades that resettled people are facing for years since they have been resettled at Veherathenna under the resettlement project in Northern Province . As a solution for this burning problem a Primary School was built in Veherathenna resettled village with the kind patronage and donation of Mr.Roshan Mahanama ,Former Cricketer of Sri Lanka Cricket Team and International Match Referee. Blend of the strength of Sri Lanka Army Wanni troops and his kind donation could create new primary school and it was named as V/ROSHAN MAHANAMA PRIMARY SCHOOL, by the Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General MHSB Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc the leading character who could foresee this barricade of these students. Due to this mutual support the school was be able to constructed only with Rs. 2.6 million instead of estimated Rs. 6 million by the Secretary of Education on Northern Province . The building is consisted with 5 class rooms, an office room, a library, teachers rest room and sanitary facilities.\r\n\r\nOn the Auspicious time fell on 04 June 2016 Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General MHSB Perera RWP RSP USP ndu psc and Donor Mr.Roshan Mahanama declared opened and handed over the building for school children.\r\n\r\nThe school building was constructed under the guidance of Brigadier Athula Kodippili - General Officer Commanding of 62 Division, Brigadier Vikum Liyanage Commander – 623 Brigade, with the labour service of the troops of 26 SLSR and ESR. \r\n\r\nMany invitees such as Sri Lankan Cricketer Chaminda Vass and Upul Chandana with their families, Secretary of Education Northern Province, Mr. R. Raveendran, Director of Education Northern Province, Mrs. Enthony Selvaraja, The Residential Manager of Hemas Outreach Mr. HKP Jayananda, Mrs.Shiromi Masakorala a member of Hemas Directory Board , a large number of villagers and children attended to this blessed ceremony.\r\n
