The newly appointed GOC 62 Inf Div Brig MKS Silva RWP RSP ndu made his first official field visit to under command Bdes and Bns. He made his first field visit to 622 Bde on 04 September 2020 located at Halambawewa. GOC was accorded a Guard Turnout as a military formality at the entrance and was warmly welcomed by the Bde Commander Col BGS Fernando USP psc. Afterwards the Bde Comd briefed the visitor on Operational Matters and deployment along with admin matters. Later GOC visited 622 Bde under command battalions, 9 GR and 20 GR Bn HQs.
On 05 September 2020 GOC visited 623 Bde located at Wediwettukallu. The visitor was accorded a Guard Turnout as a military formality followed by the briefing of the Comd 623 Bde Brig GP Kodituwakku RWP RSP. After familiarizing with the Bde, GOC visited 11 GW and 5(V) GR HQs (currently undergoing Bn trg).
Concluding his field visits, GOC made his final visit on Saturday (12) to 621 Bde located Welioya. The GOC was accorded a Guard Turnout as a military formality at the entrance and was warmly welcomed by the Comd 621 Bde Col KKS Perakum RWP RSP. Later GOC visited 621 Bde under command battalions, 14 (V) SLLI and 17 SLNG HQs followed by the briefing of the Bde Comd.
