NEW GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING OF 21 INFANTRY DIVISION ASSUMES OFFICE

21 Infantry division presented military honors and warm greetings to the newly appointed GOC, Brigadier W R M M Rathnayake RWP RSP USP ndu during a formal ceremony held on 21 April 2021 at the 21 Inf Div Headquarters at Ranasewapura, Anuradhapura. As the Initial military formality new GOC was warmly welcomed by the Colonel Nalin Weerakoon (Colonel General Staff) and Colonel Jagath Weerakoon (Colonel AQ) at the main entrance of the Div and invited him to receive the Guard Turnout salute before taking over duties. Then new GOC placed his signature at 0906 hrs for an official document to symbolized the acceptance of his new office, admits chanting of Seth Pirith by Maha Sanga.

Subsequently, GOC planted a Mango sapling in Div complex marking the beginning of his new tenure and sat for the official group photograph with the offrs attended for the event.

All the comds of under command Bdes, all Staff Offrs of the Div, all Bn Comds and number of ORs participated for the event.
