All senior officers’, Officers’, and all other rankers of the 21 Division warmly welcomed newly appointed General Officer Commanding Maj Gen H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP ndu as the 34th General Officer Commanding to the 21 Division and assumed duties on 2nd March 2020 Officially and ceremonially at his office in Ranasewapura, Anuradhapura.
According to Military traditions, a guard Turnout saluted to the new incoming General officer Commanding soon after his arrival at the premises of headquarters 21 division main gate entrance.
Maha Sangha chanted ‘sethpirith’ and invoked blessing on new appointment as he signed a formal document to signify the acceptance of new office. Added memories to this occasion and forwarded new step in his tenure, planting a mango sapling.
After that the new General officer Commanding 21 Division, setting out his scope of work and duties, addressed the troops and outlined the importance of working as a team for the prosperity of the country and promotion of the army stage.
