NEW COMMANDER SECURITY FORCE (WANNI) MAKES OFFERINGS TO RELIGIOUS PLACES IN ANURADHAPURA

The newly appointed Commander, Security Forces (Wanni), Major General Dinesh Nanayakkara, visited prominent religious places in ancient Anuradhapura to pay his observances and receive religious blessings as a tradition on 28th july 2023 .

The Commander, Security Force (Wanni), attended religious observances at the sacred Jaya Sri Maha Bodhiya together with the General Officer Commanding, 21 Infantry Division, Major General I A N B Perera RWP USP ndu psc, and a few other Senior Officers. The Commander, Security Force (Wanni), met Ven. Pallegama Hemarathana Nayaka Thero, incumbent for eight sacred places of worship (Atamasthanadhipathi), and Nuwarakalaviya Chief Sangha Nayaka at his monastery. During the Commander’s stay there, he offered Pirikara to the incumbent, Atamasthanadhipathi, and Nuwarakalaviya Chief Sangha Nayaka, and received blessings during his audience at the incumbent’s monastery.

Later, Commander, Security Force (Wanni), visited Ruwanweli Maha Seya, Thuparamaya, Lankaramaya, Abayagiriya, Isurumuniya, Jayanthi Viharaya, Mirisawetiya, and Mihinthalaya in Anuradhapura and met the respective chief incumbents in those temples and received blessings during interactions.
