NEW 'CHAITHYA' AND 'BUDDHA MANDIRAYA' TO KIRIIBANWAWE SRI DARMA PRANNTHARAMA
The “Chaithya†and “Buddha Mandiraya†were constructed by the Army troops under the guidance and leadership of the General Officer Commanding 62 Division Brig K G D Perera RWP RSP IG, and under the supervision of Commander 622 Brigade Col K P S Premalal RSP utilizing the donations of Mr Kanishka Tissa Ranasinghe and the Old Anandian 82 group of Colombo, Ananda Maha Vidiyalya. The construction was carried out at the Kiriibanwawe Sri Darma Pranntharama in the Mulativu district and Walioya DS division. The handing over ceremony of the “Chaithya†and “Buddha Mandiraya†to the temple for the villagers to worship was held on 19th October 2013. A simple ceremony was held amidst a large gathering of priests including temple Incumbent Ven Polonnaruwe Thilakalankara Nayaka Thera, after that “KATINA CHEEVARA POOJA†also organized at Kiriibanwawe Sri Darma Pranntharama on 20 October 2013. A large number of devotees, General Officer Commanding 62 Division Brig K G D Perera RWP RSP IG, and Commander 622 Brigade Col K P S Premalal RSP, Army officers, troops, families of Old Anandian 82 Group, and past teachers of the Ananda College also attended this event.
