“Thuruliya Wenuwen Api” reforestation in Wilpattu National Park gained more strength from the most famous branded icon and social welfare & animal rights activist, Mrs. Otara Gunawardena, when she visited Wilpattu and met Security Force Wanni Commander, Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu, on 13 June 2019 for a discussion on assistance she wanted to offer. To mark the occasion she and her team planted trees at Sinath Nagar in Silawathura area.
During the discussion she offered her long term assistance for the sustainability of campaign and provided details of most of her activities.
Commander 542 Brigade, Colonel Ravi Herath, conducted a presentation regarding the project to educate the visitors on instructions of General Officer Commanding of 54 Division Major General Senarath Bandara RWP RSP ndu.
The event was sponsored by the People’s Bank – Vavuniya Branch and the Regional Manager Mrs. Vannigeetha Kanakasabe, the Superintendent of Security People’s Bank Regional Branch Vavuniya Major (Rtd) Ushantha Dasanayke, the Manager People’s Bank Murunkan Branch Mr. Raj Kumar represented the Bank.
