MORE FACILITIES FOR MARADANMADU GOVERNMENT SINHALA MIXED SCHOOL

A newly built Shrine Room in Maradanmadu Government Sinhala Mixed school premises was opened for religious observance on 16 January 2021, amid religious preaching with the participation of Veteran Cricketer Roshan Mahanama, Lakshman Mahanama and members of Roshan - Wijerama foundation, who funded the construction. Assistance for the construction was provided by 5 (V) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry.

On the same day of the opening of the new shrine room, a donation programme was got underway at school premises, in view of extending hand to uplifting educational standards. of 55 students of Maradanmadu Government Sinhala Mixed School and 21 students of Maradanmadu Piyawara Montessori. They received school accessories and two computers were donated to the school, during this programme. This was materialized on the contribution made by Roshan Mahanama and a group of philanthropists residing in Colombo.

This charity programme was implemented according to the concept of the Commander Security Force (Wanni), Major General D M H D Bandara RWP RSP USP with the guidance of General Officer Commanding 21 Infantry Division, Major General H L V M Liyanage RWP RSP ndu. The event was organized by the 5 (V) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry, under the supervision of Commander 213 Infantry Brigade, Brigadier K A N Rasika Kumara psc. The Commanding Officer 5 (V) Battalion Sri Lanka Light Infantry, Major SD Ratnasiri, Major Admin and Quartering Major J S Dikwattage, Civil Affairs Officer Major E D S K Deniyaya of 213 Brigade and a group of Officers and Other Rankers took part in the Occasion.
