A medical health care clinic with sponsorship given by ‘Manusath Derana’ treated more than 623 civilians in Mannar area on Saturday (28 October) following an initiative taken by the 542 Infantry Brigade of the 54 Infantry Division under the Security Force HQ - Wanni.
During the project at Murunkan Maha Vidyalaya, Mannar, a medical team of the Mannar hospital provided medical consultations for vision defects, non-communicable diseases and conducted vision tests. The project was implemented following guidelines given by Colonel T.L.M Chandrasekera RWP psc, Commander, 542 Infantry Brigade.
During the same project, two needy families were provided with two solar panels to be used for their electric needs.
At the same occasion, ‘Manusath Derana’ gifted a water purifying unit for the benefit of students learning at Murunkhan Maha Vidyalaya. In addition, 400 medical spectacles were also freely distributed among 400 civilians who are suffering from visionary defects.
Mr. Maanikka Vaashgar Sri Skanda Kumar, Divisional Secretary for Nanattan, Mr. P. Chanaraj, Assistant Educational Director and Mr. T. Rithuyaraj Cruise, Principal, Murunkhan Maha Vidyalaya and the Divisional Health Officer Murunkhan took part in the programme.
