As per the concept of the Commander of the Army, Lieutenant General Vikum Liyanage RWP RSP ndu, to provide quality the accommodation to army, under the supervision and the guidance of the Commander Security Forces (Wanni) Major General W P A D W Nanayakakara RSP VSV USP ndu, 22 Engineer Service Squadron at the Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni) modified accommodation post with all the facilities for the soldiers who are deployed outside their permanent camps.
The Commander Security Forces (Wanni) handed over first two modified accommodation posts to the soldiers who performing duties at statics point deployed in new bus stand premises, Vavuniya on 06 January 2024.
Gracing the occasion, the Commander Security Forces (Wanni) Major General W P A D W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu unveiled the accommodation post. The General Officer Commanding 56 Infantry Division Major General H G P M Kariyawasam RSP ndc psc IG, Brigadier General Staff Security Forces (Wanni) Brigadier J S B W Pallekumbura RWP RSP ndu psc, Senior Officers, Officers and Other Ranks were participated to the opening ceremony.
Further, the Commander Security Forces (Wanni) appreciated the troops who were engage in modifying accommodation posts and given the direction to 22 Engineer Service Squadron at the Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) to expansion of this project for the benefited of other soldiers who are stationed outside their permanent camps for field duties.
Total expenditure of this pre fabricated modified accommodation project is totally funded by the Security Forces Headquarters (Wanni)
