MILITARY FAREWELL HELD AT 21 INFANTRY DIVISION FOR OUTGOING GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING

The 21 Infantry Division formally held the farewell ceremony for its outgoing General Officer Commanding, 21 Infantry Division, Major General WPADW Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu on Tuesday (18) July with military honours. The outgoing commander has been designated as the Commander Security Force (Wanni).

A Guard Turnout, accorded to the outgoing Commander at the entrance greeted him on arrival and then he was invited to review the Guard of Honour. Then, the outgoing General Officer Commanding 21 Infantry Division attended the handing over formalities at his office in the presence of all Brigade Commanders and Principle Staff Officers. After that a group photograph was taken in front of the Headquarters office complex.

The General Officer Commanding, 21 Infantry Division addressed the troops, where he offered his sincere gratitude to all ranks served in respective formations for high standards of professionalism maintained and service rendered to maintain a peaceful environment in the area.

Thereafter, all rank tea was held and a token of appreciation was given to the outgoing General Officer Commanding, 21 Infantry Division. Towards the end of the day's farewell Programme, Commander 211 Infantry Brigade gave away a token of appreciation to the outgoing General Officer Commanding, 21 Infantry Division for his inspiration, guidance and methodical command as the General Officer Commanding, 21 Infantry Division.
