The newly erected monument of 2nd battalion the Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, was declared open on 05/11/2023 at 2nd battalion Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment, Irattaperiyakulam, Vavuniya .
Major General W P A D W Nanayakkara RSP VSV USP ndu, Commander of the SF (W) having been invited as the chief guest for this event by the Major R M K B Rathnayake RSP Commanding Officer 2nd battalion vijayabahu infantry regiment unveiled the monument dedicated to the memory of fallen War Heroes. Thereafter all the invitees joined with the religious observances in front of the new 2 (V) VIR war heroes monument then. Minutes after the unveiling the monument Rana Bera (Warriors Drums) Vigil Mounting observance of a two minutes silence and reading of the citation in honor of 134 War Heroes who made the supreme sacrifice added dignity and honor to this occasion.
