MEDICAL CAMPAIGN ORGANIZED BY 611 BRIGADE IN COOPERATION WITH ASIRI HOSPITAL COLOMBO
On the direction of General Officer Commanding of 61 Division Brigadier DMWWWMRBM Daulagala RSP, 611 Brigade organized a medical campaign at the Thawsiyakulam Government Tamil Mixed school, ICHCHANKULAM on 26 October 2014, for the Villagers in Ichchankulam area in cooperation with Asiri Hospital Colombo. 450 patients, mainly with heart disease, diabetes, blood pressure and obesity were treated by the doctors attended including the specialist cardiologist Dr. vivek Guptha of India. During the event Dr. Vivek Guptha donated Rs 50000.00 to the Western Band of the Tharanikulam Ganesh Vidyalaya for Its development.
The Commander 611 Brigade Colonel M P Lamahewa USP and Commanding officer 9th Sinha Regiment Lt Col L.D.Perera RSP , 2nd in Command 25th Regiment Sri Lanka Light Infantry Major IADS Indika RSP and many officers had participated for the event.
