Mannar Poson Zone 2025

The Mannar Poson Zone 2025, organized by the 54 Infantry Division, was successfully held on Poson Poya Day, 10th June 2025, near the Thalladi Junction, close to the Division Headquarters. It was guided by the Commander Security Forces (Wanni), Major General K.M.P.S.B. Kulatunga RSP ndc psc, and supervised by the General Officer Commanding – 54 Infantry Division, Major General A.M.C.P. Wijayaratne RWP RSP nps psc. The event came to life through the commitment and teamwork of all personnel, including the Brigade Commanders and the Commanding Officers of the under-command battalions from the 541, 542, and 543 Brigades. The inauguration took place with vibrant energy and saw the participation of religious leaders from all faiths, representatives of the Sri Lanka Navy and Police, and heads of local government institutions. The Poson Zone featured a range of spiritually uplifting attractions, including a dazzling lantern display, a detailed replica of Mihintale, a colourful pandal (thorana), a devotional song hall, and a rice dansala. People from all ethnic and religious backgrounds, came together at the event, symbolizing peace, harmony, and shared cultural pride. The lanterns, Mihintale replica, and pandal remained on display for public viewing on the 11th and 12th of June 2025, allowing more visitors to experience the spirit of Poson in Mannar.
