MAJOR GENERAL H H K S S HEWAGE RWP RSP USP rcds psc ASSUMED DUTIES AS THE 40TH GENERAL OFFICER COMMANDING OF 21 INFANTRY DIVISION

Major General H H K S S HEWAGE RWP RSP USP rcds psc assumed duties as the 40thGeneral Officer Commanding of the 21 Infantry Division on 11 January 2024 at the Headquarter 21 Infantry Division in Anuradhapura amidst formal military formalities.

The newly appointed General Officer Commanding was warmly welcomed by the Staff Officers before he was greeted in a Guard Turnout at the entrance. Subsequently He was invited to receive the Salute of a colorful Guard of Honor by troops of the 9th Battalion Gajaba Regiment.

After a while, amidst religious blessings Major General H H K S S HEWAGE RWP RSP USP rcds psc placed his signature on an official document, symbolizing the formal acceptance of the office on his new appointment.

In line with military formalities General Officer Commanding was invited for group photograph before he planting a mango sapling in the premises. Later he addressed the Officers and Other Ranks where he expressed his vision for the Division in the future. An All Ranks tea culminated the day’s agenda.
