MAJOR GENERAL D M H D BANDARA RWP RSP USP ASSUMED OFFICE AS THE 22 COMMANDER OF THE SECURITY FORCE HEADQUARTERS (WANNI)

A dignified formal ceremony was taken place to mark the assuming of the office of newly appointed Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General D M H D Bandara RWP RSP USP on 16 Jan 2021 as the 22 Security Force Commander.

As the first segment of the ceremony, the newly appointed Commander of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) was accorded with a Guard Turnout at the entrance to the premises of the Headquarters Security Force (Wanni). Then he paid the tribute to fallen war heroes by laying a floral wreath to the monument at the SFHQ premises. Later on the ceremony was colored grandly with a Guard of Honor accorded by the troops of 7 SLSR.

Thereafter the Commander Major General D M H D Bandara RWP RSP USP assuming of office and auspiciously took over the duties amid the religious observances. Subsequently mango sapling is planted the premises of headquarters office complex followed by a group photograph with senior officers and joined troop address and all rank tea organized at the Other Ranks’ Mess at SFHQ Wanni.

General Officers Commanding of Infantry Divisions, Brigade Commanders, Commanding Officers, Senior Officers of SFHQ (Wanni), Officers and NCOs were present to pay their respect to the newly appointed Commander Security Force (Wanni).
