65 Infantry Division launched Tree-planting programme to coincide with the 73th Independence Day commemoration. Echo -friendly tree planting programmes were conducted in 65 Division AOR with the direction of General Officer Commanding 65 Infantry Division Major General DMT Dissanayake RSP USP.
On this day, General Officer Commanding, all the officers and the other rankers of 65 Infantry Division planted 100 coconut saplings, 15 jack wood saplings and 20 Mee saplings inside the camp premises covering the area of 2 acres. Meanwhile, all Brigades and Battalions followed same echo - friendly tree planting programme with the guidance of the Commanders 651, 652 and 653 Infantry Brigades in their respective AORs and planted 325 coconut saplings, 110 jack wood saplings and 200 Mee saplings.
