In view of improving the sports skills among soldier in Security Force (Wanni) through inculcating comradeship, enhancing determination and courage, the Inter Division Squash Tournament was organized on 05 August 2019 at Headquarters of Security Force (Wanni).
The Inter Division Squash Tournament is one of the major sport events in the Sports Calendar of Security Force (Wanni) and this time it was organized by troops of 561 Brigade under the guidance of Colonel RANK Ranthnayake and with the supervision of General Officer Commanding 56 Division Major General H P Senevirathne VSV USP ndu.
Final matches of Inter Division Squash Tournament were held at the Squash Court in Security Force Headquarters (Wanni).
Number of players representing 21, 54, 56, 61, 62 Divisions and Forward Maintenance Area (North Central) competed for the champion trophy of the tournament.
Corporal Jayakodi DMS from 2 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment who represented 21 Division became the Champion while Private Sandhanayake SMDS from 9 Gajaba Regiment who represented 62 Division was emerged as the Runner up.
The Commander Security Force (Wanni), Major General Jagath Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc graced the ceremony of certificate awarding and witnessed the final matches.
The General Officers Commanding 21, 54, 56, 61 and 62 Division, the Commander of Forward Maintenance Area (North Central), Senior Officers, Officers and number of Other Ranks representing Security Force (Wanni) and its under command formations too were present to witness the final matches and certificate awarding ceremony.
