According to the annual sports calendar of the Security Force Headquarters (Wanni), the finals of Inter Division Elle Tournament were held on 22 August 2019 at the Elle ground in 62 Division.
Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) along with 21, 54, 56, 61, 62 Divisions and Forward Maintenance Area (North Central) competed for the trophy in the tournament. Among 7 teams represented from each formation, teams of 56 and 62 Divisions were selected for the final match and after a nail biting battle, the team represented 56 Division was emerged as the Champion of Inter Division Elle Tournament in year 2019 while 62 Division was awarded as Runners up.
This year tournament was organised by troops of 62 Division under the directions of General Officer Commanding Brigadier Dhammika Jayasinghe and with the supervision of Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Jagath Gunawardena RSP VSV USP ndc psc.
The final ceremony and certificate awarding was graced by General Officer Commanding of 62 Division, Brigadier Dhammika Jayasinghe as the Chief Guest and it was grandly organised by troops of 622 Brigade under the guidance of Commander 622 Brigade Colonel Saliya Amunugama RWP RSP.
Commander 621 Brigade Colonel A P Wickramasekara USP psc, Commander 622 Brigade Colonel S B Amunugama RWP RSP, Commander 623 Brigade Colonel T G P S Rathnayake RWP RSP, several Senior Officers, Officers and large number of Other Ranks representing Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) together with 21, 54, 56, 61, 62 Divisions and Forward Maintenance Area (North Central) participated in the event.
