As per the instructions and directions of General Officer Commanding 62 Infantry division Major General Sujeewa Hettiarachchi and under the supervision of Commander 622 Infantry Brigade Colonel Enoj Herath, Brigade troops contributed their assistance to complete half built teachers quarters at Helabewewa Primary School which was sponsored by the members of Attanagalla Lions Club from 26 February 2022 to 25 June 2022.
The inaugural opening ceremony of teacher’s quarters was organized by the troops of 9th Battalion the Gajaba Regiment under the supervision of Commanding Officer Lieutenant Colonel SenakaMunasinghe at on 25 June 2022.
At the outset Commander 621 Infantry Brigade Colonel Nissanka Kadanaarachi as the Chief Guest together with District Governor of the Lions Club handed over keys of the newly constructed teachers quarters symbolically to the school teachers.
In simultaneously to the event, members of Aththanagalla Lions Club distributed school accessories to 50 school children that each worth of Rs 3500.00 in totally Rs 175,000. Further, they have distributed 46 dry ration packs that each worth of Rs 3000.00 in totally Rs 138,000.
