HUMANITARIAN ASSISTANCE WAS GIVEN BY 561 INFANTRY BRIGADE TROOPS DUE TO FLOOD SITUATION

Due to the heavy rainfall these days, the road from Paleywadi to Puliyankulam has been filled with water up to two to three feet due to the spilling of Paleywadi Lake, located within the Puliyankulam South Gramasewa Division. School Childrens and villagers are unable to travel along this road. On 18 December 2023 under the advice and guidance of the General Officer Commanding 56 Infantry Division, Major General HGPM Kariyawasam RSP ndc psc IG and Supervision of Colonel MGA Malandaya RSP- Commander 561 Infantry Brigade and Major W H Wickramasinghe RSP USP psc Lsc Commanding Officer of the 16th Battalion Sri Lanka Sinha Regiment. Accordingly 1x10 Troops provided transportation to School Children and civilians using a tractor.
