Showery condition has caused most of the tanks to spill in Anuradhapura District during hours commenced from 20 to 21 December 2019.
The spill gates of Kalawewa and Rajanganaya located in 21 Division Area of Responsibility have opened due to this extreme weather condition and officials of DMC has advised residents living in law line and close to the tanks to be vigilant of any possible floods.
The Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri ndu psc made a visit to Kalawewa and areas in the vicinity of Kalawewa on 20 December 2019 to inspect whether it would cause any disastrous situation in particular areas in order to engage troops of Security Force (Wanni) in assisting the public.
The Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Rohitha Dharmasiri ndu psc instructed all GOC’s of division to be alert on Facing for any disastrous situation.
