Troops under 621 Brigade organized a special Poson kalapaya (Zone) in front of the 621 Brigade Headquarters on 28th of June 2018 to mark the Poson Poya Day. All Officers and Other Ranks of 14(V) Sri Lanka Light Infantry and 17 Sri Lanka National Guard gathered together in organising the year’s Poson Festival under the guidance of Commander 621 Brigade Colonel P S K Sanjeewa RWP RSP USP and with the supervision of General Officer Commanding of 62 Division Brigadier L A N S Wanigasinghe RWP RSP USP. The Poson Zone was taken place for 7th Consecutive time and it was consisted with decorative Vesak Lanterns, Poson Bathi Gee, a Dansala with Fried Rice and Ice Cream.
People in surrounded villages have participated in witnessing the splendour of the evening on Poson kalapaya and they all extremely admired the devotional (Bakthi geetha) songs programme organised at the Poson Kalapaya. Over 5000 civilians were provided with a sumptuous dinner at the Dansala organised by troops under 621 Brigade.
The Chief guest of the Poson kalapaya was Divisional Secretariat of Padaviya Mr. Ranjith Priyadarshana.and District Secretariat of Sampathnuwara Mr. Deepal Nishantha, Resident Project Manager (Mahaweli L Zone) Mr. H P K Jayanada, Medical Officer of Health Sampathnuwara Dr. D Lakmal, Medical Officer of Health Padaviya Dr. M Dharmadasa, Zonal Education Directors of Sampathnuwara and Kebithigollewa and many distinguished officials graced this event.
