As a concept of the Commander of Army Lieutenant General Mahesh Senanayake RWP RSP VSV USP USACGSC, all military establishments in island wide organising various events to mark the forthcoming 69th Army Anniversary. In that context, the Headquarters 211 Brigade organises a Flag March from Pattanichur Muslim School to the main entrance of Security Force Headquarters (Wanni) via Vavuniya town on 08 October 2018.
Over 21 Officers and 380 Other Ranks representing Security Force Headquarters (Wanni), Headquarters of 211 Brigade, 2 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment and 2 (V)Sri Lanka Army Women’s Corps together with the Brass band of Sri Lanka Army Corps of Military Police marchedwith prideand valour under flags of their respective establishments.
This is the first time that a Flag March was organised in Vavuniya town with the participation of such military crowd.
The Commander 211 Brigade Colonel TharakaRathnasekara USP with the guidance of General Officer Commanding 21 Division Major General Ruwan de Silva USP ndu IG and under the supervision of Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General KumuduPerera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu organised this Flag March successfully.
