To coincide with the 72nd Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, a newly - constructed house was vested to a needy family of Mr RM Ranasinghe, Gemunupura, Padavi Sripura on 10th October 2021 under the patronage of Major General Upali Gunasekara RWP USP IG - General Officer Commanding 62 Infantry Division.
The house was constructed by the troops of the 9th Battalion the Gajaba Regiment under the supervision of Commanding Officer, Lieutenant Colonel Senaka Munasinghe RSP GR, with the guidance of the Brigadier Anura Abeysinghe RWP RSP USP psc Commander - 622 Infantry Brigade with the financial assistance by 9th Battalion the Gajaba Regiment.
Chief Thero - Rajamaha Viharaya Sripura, Gramaniladari, and the Development officer of the area participated in the event.
