To coincide with the 72nd Anniversary of the Sri Lanka Army, a newly - constructed house was vested to a needy family of Mr P B Jayarathna in Maradankadawala, Horowpothana on 10th October 2021 under the patronage of Brigadier Rohan Medagoda RSP USP psc IG - Commander 623 Infantry Brigade.
The house was constructed by the troops of the 5th Battalion Gajaba Regiment under the supervision of Commanding Officer, Major Dammika Herath, with the guidance of the Commander - 623 Infantry Brigade and the instructions of Major Genaral Upali Gunasekara RWP USP IG - General Officer Commanding - 62 Infantry Division with the Financial assistance given by District Housing Development Authority.
A member of the Pradeshiya Sabha of the area, District Manager of the Anuradhapura Housing Development Authority and staff also took part the event. At this point, Commander - 623 Infantry Brigade, planted a saplings and household items were given as gifts to the residents.
