Fully renovated Library Room, Activity Room and a Toilet Complex were handed over to the students of Konketiyawa Primary School at Padaviya on 16 March 2023 at the school premises.
The project was sponsored and funded by the Astra, Upfield Lanka (Pvt) Ltd in accordance with their Astra Breakfast Fund Campaign facilitating approximately 130 Students and 10 Staff Members of the school. The library was gifted with a large number of books needed for the students’ reference. Besides from the donation, the Astra Team conducted an awareness programme related to best nutritional practices benefitting the audience comprised with the students and their parents.
The constructions were carried out by the Engineer Services Regiment Section of the 62 Infantry Division with the assistance of the troops belong to the 14 (V) SLLI with the close supervision of the Major KBG Attanayake - Commanding Officers, 14 (V) SLLI, under the guidance of the Brig IN Kandanaarachchi RSP - Comd 621 Infantry Brigede. The project was scheduled as per the instructions and directions of the Major General RAJN Ranasinghe RSP USP ndc - General Officer Commanding, 62 Infantry Division who graced the occasion as the Chief Guest.
