THE FORMALVISIT OF NEWLY APPOINTED COMMANDER SECURITY FORCE (WANNI) TO 62 DIVISION
First official visit to HQ 62 Division by new Commander - Security Force (Wanni), Major General M K D Perera RWP RSP USP ndu, was made on 11 August 2017. The Commander was ceremoniously welcomed with highest military traditions by the General Officer Commanding of 62 Division, Brigadier L A N S Wanigasinghe RWP RSP USP by awarding a Guard Turnout and a Guard of Honour at the premises of Headquarters 62 Division.\r\n\r\nDuring the visit, the General Officer Commanding made a detailed briefing pertaining to the Division. As follow on events, the SF Commander addressed troops of 62 Division and joined all ranks for tea.\r\n\r\nAs a part of the official visit to the Division area, the Commander visited 621, 622 and 623 Brigades in Welioya, Halabawewa and Wediwettikullu respectively accompanied by General Officer Commanding 62 Division. During visits to three Brigades the Brigade Commanders Colonel P S K Sanjeewa RWP RSP USP, Brigadier MP Karunarathna IG and Colonel M K U P Gunarathna RSP psc IG welcomed the Commander and made briefings pertaining to each Brigade. During the visit between Brigades the Commander inspected the Battalion Training School in Kalyanipura. \r\n
