THE FIRST OFFICIAL VISIT AT 593 INFANTRY BRIGADE BY NEWLY APPOINTED GOC OF 59 INFANTRY DIVISION WAS TAKEN PLACE

Major General D R N Hettiarachchi RWP RSP USP, the newly appointed General Officer Commanding (GOC) of the 59 Infantry Division, visited 593 Infantry Brigade, 6 Gemunu Watch and 6 Sri Lanka National Guard, on 02 October 2024. The Deputy GOC Brigadier K H N P Hannadige RWP RSP psc and Senior Staff Officers of 59 Infantry Division also participated the event.

Upon his arrival, the GOC was warmly received by the Commander of the 593 Infantry Brigade. The visit commenced with a detailed briefing by the Commander, 593 Infantry Brigade. Then a comprehensive briefing was delivered by the Commanding Officers’ covering the battalion's deployment, operational roles, tasks, and routine duties within its area of responsibility.

The GOC penned down his remarks in the visitors’ book of the 593 Infantry Brigade, and the Commander of 593 Infantry Brigade and the Brigade Major participated for the event.

During his visit, the GOC took the opportunity to engage in meaningful discussions with the troops, providing guidance and encouragement. Before departing, he signed the visitors' books of the battalions, expressing his compliments.
