As a continuation of CSR activities conducted by “EDEX Nena Pahana” Project by Royal Collage Union, donation programmes were held on 23 and 24 November 2018 to distribute valuable books and reading materials for the use of underprivileged students in selected far off schools, V/Kalukunnnanmaduwa Vidyalaya, A/ Wahalkada D 05 Vidyalaya, A/Padhaviya D 10 Maithree Vidyalaya and T/Jayanthiwewa Maha Vidyalaya.
Philanthropists of Royal Collage Colombo Union representing Edex Nena Pahana social and education welfare association donated more than 750 books and essential school items for those remote schools to enhance the education of students in order to suit for the existing competitive technology based education.
This is the third CSR project initiated by EDEX with the assistance of Commander Security Force (Wanni) Major General Kumudu Perera RWP RSP VSV USP ndu under his view of guiding thousands of students in Wanni region to the path of education to make their lives better in future.
The donation programme in V/Kalukunnannmaduwa Vidyalaya was organised by 2 (V) Vijayabahu Infantry Regiment under the directions of Commander 211 Brigade Colonel M G T D Rathnasekara USP and with the supervision of General Officer Commanding of 21 Division Brigadier H P N K Jayapathirana RSP while other donation programmes were launched by 62 Divisions under the guidance of General Officers Commanding of, Brigadier J M U D Jayasinghe.
Director Brand Promotion EDEX Nena Pahana Project Mr Shehan Hiranga Silva along with an active member of Royal Collage Colombo Union Mr. Ramith Perera visited these difficult areas for the donation programme.
The Civil Coordinating Affairs Officer of 62 Division, Senior Officers of the 62 Division and under command formations and large number of students with teachers and parents were present at the occasion.
